Help: How is Sectigo Standard SSL different from Rapid SSL?

Honestly? From the perspective of how your website works — none.

Both Sectigo Positive SSL and RapidSSL certificates serve exactly the same purpose: they secure the connection between your website and its users by encrypting transmitted data and displaying a secure connection indicator in the browser.

Of course, they differ in terms of the certificate authority — they are issued by two separate, reputable companies specializing in SSL validation and issuance — as well as in pricing, which you can see in our offer.

However, in practice, from the point of view of your website and its users:

  • there is no difference in functionality,
  • there is no difference in the level of encryption,
  • there is no difference in how the browser “padlock” is displayed.

If either certificate is installed correctly, your website will be fully secured and users will see the standard secure connection indicator.

So the choice mainly comes down to preference and budget rather than technical differences — both solutions perform their job equally well.
